Rlc. Toshie Aoki ‘Starburst,’ AM/AOS x Prosthechea mariae (2.5” pot near blooming size)
Product Description
New! This is a seedling cross of the two parents shown above, so each will be slightly different. The latter parent will bring the plant size down into the compact range while keeping the flower size fairly large. Most will likely there will be yellow flowers, some with red lips, and some with additional pattern on the segments, blooming from summer into fall in nice clusters once mature. It’s always fun to have a few seedlings in your collection and not just simply clones, where the outcome is known in advance. The excitement of blooming an orchid for the first time that no one else has even seen is a feeling hard to match. Typically, also, the quality and size of the blooms improves as the plants mature so don’t’ make your full assessment until the third flowering. These plants will be ready for larger pots on the next growth, which should put then in the range of blooming size.
