Rhyncattleanthe Jairak Delight (2.5” pot flowering size mericlone)

New! The photo is from the grower in Thailand before the cross was registered so you can see the parentage in the caption upper left. We had a number of these bloom with their first flowers during the spring show season but never held on to one long enough to get a good photo of our own. Good sized 3.5 to 4 inch flowers with strong substance are a glowing yellow with just a touch of red in the lip. They last well and also have a nice fragrance. While we got blooms on plants that were quite small, we can tell from the ancestry that this orchid will mature close to 12 inches tall and produce nice clusters of three or four and possibly more. Because of the mix of species in the family tree, with a strong dose of the fall blooming C. dowiana we expect plants to flower twice per year, favoring spring and fall. The foliage on this orchid is particularly clean and neat as well.
