Cymbidium Pakkret Horizon ‘Octoberfest’ (2.5” pot young mericlone)

New! This extremely elegant creation from Pakkret Floriculture in Bangkok Thailand will bloom and grow well both in the hot summer south and in the cooler north. Medium sized plants produce graceful narrow foliage to about 18-24 inches in height. I late summer into fall and sometimes in spring as well, tall upright spikes support long lasting comparatively large white flowers overlaid with a pink blush and purple lines. As a bonus they are fragrant too! The cross is a simple marriage of the large growing Cymbidium insigne and the much smaller and very heat tolerant Cym. ensifolium. Like all Cymbidiums this orchid appreciates bright diffused light, and will grow well under LED lights. Apply plenty of water especially during the summer months, but even in winter don’t let the plants totally dry out. Deeper pots that still maintain tight “shoulders” for the plant are ideal as these grow older. While still smallish, these grow quickly and can flower within two years. Get one while the price is low. Similar Cymbidiums to this one have sold out before we even had a chance to step them up into larger pots.
