Cymbidium Tropical Heritage x Tavoy (2.5” pot young seedling)

New! Once more we introduce a seedling cross we imported as flasks from Pakkret Floriculture in Bangkok Thailand that will produce plants that are reasonably compact for a Cymbidium and flower well in hot as well as cool climates. In this case both parents were also tetraploid for fuller flowers with greater substance. Cym. Tropical Heritage has both Cym. Golden Elf and Cym. Peter Pan in its background, helping to keep the plants smaller and provide both heat and cold tolerance. Cym. Tavoy is a cross between Cym. dayanum and Cym. finlaysonianum and will add a great color range to the seedings as well as tons of heat tolerance. The flower spikes will be mostly likely arching and mature plants will flower profusely in late summer and possibly again in late winter. Like all Cymbidiums this orchid appreciates bright diffused light and will grow well under LED lights. Apply plenty of water especially during the summer months, but even in winter don’t let the plants totally dry out. Deeper pots that still maintain tight “shoulders” for the plant are ideal as these grow older. While still smallish, these grow quickly and can flower withing two years. Get one while the price is low.
