Myrmecocattleya Trudy Fennell
Product Description
We love this great hybrid that was registered in 1963 and tried in vain for years to self pollinate it. Finally, last year we were able to obtain good quality clones of the original parents and recreate the cross, which is Mymercophila (formerly Schomburgkia) thomsoniana x Cattleya granulosa. Very few plants of the original cross survive in collections today and many are virused, so we are anxious to reintroduce this fantastic hybrid to collectors as soon as the plants are large enough to sell! While both parents are considered once bloomers, we always get two to three flowerings per year from this compact growing plant, so we hope the results will be the same with our seedlings! If only they would grow faster!
