Oerstedella wallisii
Product Description
The fascinating Oestedellas were formerly part of Epidendrum, but were split off into a separate genus around 1980. They inhabit the wet montane forests of Central America, primarily Costa Rica and Panama. Oerstedella wallisii is one of several members of this genus that combines contrasting colors in a beautiful and unique way. It produces these exquisite, waxy, long lived flowers quite frequently on short stems that emerge from nodes along the tallish canes, beginning at the top and working downward over successive years. We are making some intriguing crosses with these seldom seen orchids that we will offer our customers in the future.
